My name is Dr. Kavitha Viswanathan, but most of my patients just call me Dr. KV. I am an American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD) certified dentist and have been in clinical practice since 2008. I grew up in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India and I came to the US in 2000 for higher education. I received my doctorate in Oral Biology for which I studied the effects of psychological stress on wound healing. I then received a certificate in pediatric dentistry from The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH.
I currently serve as an examiner for the ABPD and teach at The Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry on a part-time basis. One of most rewarding aspects of being a pediatric dentist is my ability to help create strong and lasting oral health habits in children. I also love the fact that my profession allows me to connect with patients and their families over a long period of time.
I am married to Swami, who is a robotic engineer, and we have two children aged 13 and 17. We live in Frisco, Texas. I love to read in my spare time and go on road trips with my family.
